Six cows are on the loose tafter a trailer hauling cattle crashed, dumping 15 cows onto a busy highway. The incident occurred in Orange County at 6:15 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 20, at the intersection of I-84 and Route 6 in Deerpark. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Kenworth carrying cows of various breeds was traveling west when the driver stated that his brakes failed. A 36-year-old New York trucker was killed Friday morning, Aug. 16, when he climbed out of his cab after a small accident in Massachusetts before another truck crashed into him, authorities said. In Hampden County, Nicholas Charles, a resident of Mechanicville in Saratoga County was struck just after 9:45 a.m. near mile marker 33 of Route 90 in Blandford, Massachusetts State Police said. A tractor-trailer driver is hospitalized with severe burns after he crashed into a railroad bridge in the region, triggering a massive explosion and fire. A truck carrying 42,000 pounds of frozen french fries struck an overpass on a Westchester County parkway, causing a fuel spill and a closure of the roadway's lanes in one direction. Crews were working to reopen a highway in the region after a dump truck rolled over, knocking down power lines and sending the driver to the hospital. The Rensselaer County crash happened shortly after noon Monday, Oct. 3, in the Town of North Greenbush, on State Route 43 near Holland Drive, according to police. Woman Killed When Dump Truck Crashes Into Capital District Home, Starts Fire
A woman has died after an out-of-control dump truck slammed into a Capital District house, sparking a massive fire that destroyed two homes. Emergency crews in Greene County first got word of the crash at around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, when 911 callers reported a dump truck striking a home in Ashland, near State Route 23 and West Settlement Road.
