Man From Region Charged With Rape Of Minor A 41-year-old man from the region has been charged with the alleged rape of a minor. Sullivan County resident Phillip C. Calyer, of Fallsburg, was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 7 following an investigation by the New York State Police. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, Calyer was charged following a joint investigation with the Sullivan County Child Protective Services. Fatal Hit-Run: 17-Year-Old Struck By Drunk Driver In Region, Police Say A 67-year-old man faces numerous felony charges after fleeing the scene of a crash in New York that left a teenage boy dead, police said.  Sullivan County resident Thomas Piatt, age 67, of Bethel, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 31 for his role in a crash that left a 17-year-old Cochecton resident dead, according to state police.  At the time of the incident, around 12:40 a.m. on Thursday, state police responded to Route 17B in Bethel on a report of a fatal crash.
