Duo's Storage Unit Theft Spree In Capital Region Foiled By Vigilant Passerby, Police Say
Two suspected storage unit thieves are facing charges thanks to a tip from a vigilant passerby. Saratoga County Sheriff’s deputies were called at around 3 p.m. Friday, March 15, for a suspicious vehicle at the Extra Space Storage in Clifton Park. When they arrived, deputies encountered found 40-year-old Michael DeMartino, of Stillwater, and 41-year-old Kristin Frisch, of Gloversville. An investigation determined they had stolen numerous items from various storage units. DeMartino and Frisch were arrested on suspicion of burglary, criminal possession of stolen property, and petit larceny. …

Oh, Brother: Capital Region Duo Nabbed For Stealing Plow, Police Say
Two brothers are facing charges after allegedly stealing farming equipment from a property in the region. Saratoga County residents Nicholas and Lee Scoville, both of Stillwater, were arrested Friday, Dec. 22, on multiple charges. New York State Police said a Stillwater resident contacted the agency on Sunday, Dec. 10 saying a plow had been stolen from their property. Troopers determined that Nicholas Scoville stole the plow and then stored it at his brother’s Stillwater property, police said. A 29-year-old YouTube creator is behind bars accused of stabbing his stepfather to death at a home in the region. Emergency crews in Saratoga County were called to a home in Stillwater, located on Gurba Drive South, at around 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16 for a domestic dispute. When they arrived, they found 61-year-old Richard Naze stabbed to death, according to Stillwater Police. One driver was killed and another was injured in a crash involving a school bus in the region. Emergency crews in Saratoga County were called at around 7:15 a.m. Monday, May 22, with reports of a three-vehicle wreck in the town of Stillwater, on State Route 67. Crews have recovered the body of a 44-year-old man who drowned in a Capital District lake. Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials were called shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, with reports of a person struggling in the waters of Saratoga Lake, approximately a quarter mile north of Brown’s Beach in Stillwater. A husband and wife from the Capital District were awakened by a naked intruder trying to sexually assault them, authorities said. The Saratoga County residents told police they were sleeping in their Stillwater home on Thursday, Aug. 4, when they awoke to find a fully nude man who they do not know attempting to sexually abuse the woman as she lay sleeping next to her husband. A Capital District man will spend more than a decade in federal prison after copping to child pornography charges. Saratoga County resident Zachary Duchesne, age 27, of Stillwater, was sentenced to 15 years behind bars Friday, July 22, in federal court in Albany. It followed his guilty plea to charges of transporting and possessing child pornography.
