Albany County resident Eric Edwards, of Watervliet, was sentenced to 25 years in prison in Albany County Court on Thursday, Aug. 17. Serial Sex Offender Nabbed In Area After Assaulting Man With Autism, Police Say A violent sex offender with a history of targeting vulnerable adults has been arrested in the region after allegedly assaulting a man with autism. In Albany County, Watervliet Police arrested 64-year-old Jamal Ali, of Watervliet, on multiple sex crimes following an alleged incident that occurred on Thursday, Aug. 4. Investigators said Ali approached the victim, an adult man with autism, at a bus stop and invited him back to his home to drink alcoholic beverages and watch a movie.
