A woman from the region is facing charges in connection with the starvation death of her MMA-fighter-boyfriend’s 5-year-old daughter. Schenectady County resident Brandi Terhune, age 22, of Schenectady, was arrested Monday, June 3, on suspicion of tampering with evidence and endangering the welfare of a child. Two years after a young father was gunned down on his 21st birthday in the region, the man who pulled the trigger is facing decades in prison. Anthony Romero, age 25, was sentenced to 37 years to life in prison in Schenectady County Court on Wednesday, May 1, after a jury convicted him of murdering Treavine Tate. New details have surfaced in the case of a father accused of starving his 5-year-old daughter to death at a home in the region. Police were called to a Schenectady residence on Elmer Avenue near Poplar Street at around 3 a.m. Sunday, April 14, for a young girl who was unconscious and not breathing.
