Developing: 15 Protestors Charged After Closing Down Bridge In Hudson Valley
New York State Police arrested 15 people during a protest calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict after they shut down parts of a major highway and a bridge. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on I-84 and the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge around 8 a.m., Monday, April 15. Yale Condemns Desecration Of Menorah On New Haven Green
City officials and Yale University are speaking out after a masked man climbed a public menorah on the New Haven Green and put a Palestinian flag on the structure. Video of the incident shows a protester dressed in black scaling the menorah and sticking a Palestinian flag on one of the candleholders. 'Pharmageddon': CVS, Walgreens Protests Spread As Workers Seek Better Conditions
Around a thousand pharmacy workers across the country have walked off the job as part of a strike to protest conditions. The so-called "Pharmageddon" series of walkouts at pharmacy chains including CVS and Walgreens stores started Monday, Oct. 30, and is expected to continue at least through the middle of the week. A protest at the New York Capitol over wages for tipped workers saw several people led away in handcuffs, including actress and activist Susan Sarandon. The 76-year-old Academy Award winner and former resident of Pound Ridge in Westchester County was among eight protesters arrested for disorderly conduct at the Capitol building in Albany on Monday, May 8, according to the One Fair Wage organization. Capital District Courthouse Evacuated After Protester Releases Cockroaches
Proceedings at a New York courthouse came grinding to a halt after a protester released scores of cockroaches inside a courtroom. It happened Tuesday morning, June 7, at Albany City Court. During an arraignment of four people who were previously arrested at the Capitol, a protester released hundreds of cockroaches that had been brought in plastic containers, according to Lucian Chalfen, a spokesperson for the state Office of Court Administration.
