Suspicious White Powder Sent To Election Offices Across Country — Including NY
A package with a suspicious white substance was intercepted at a United States Post Office in Connecticut earlier this week and could be part of a much larger scheme to disrupt or scare election workers ahead of election day, authorities said. Capital Region Man Killed By Trooper After Pulling Gun, Police Say
A distraught man from the region who threatened self-harm was shot and killed by New York State troopers after allegedly pulling a gun. The incident occurred in Saratoga County around 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, on Route 9 in the parking lot of Bethel Saratoga in Saratoga Springs. Teen Accused Of Making Threat Against Student At High School In Region
A teen was charged with making a terroristic threat after allegedly threatening to shoot a student outside a private school in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on Wednesday, Sept. 4, when police responded to the home of an Our Lady Of Lourdes High School student for an anonymous terroristic statement threatening to target the victim with a gun after school in Poughkeepsie. A police department on Long Island is the first in New York to become certified sensory inclusive. The body of a man who jumped from a bridge in the region has been recovered. The incident occurred on the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge on Saturday, Aug. 3. Woman Shot To Death At Capital Region Home With Several Children Present
Police are investigating after a woman was shot to death at a home in the region. The incident happened in Schenectady, at a residence on Charles Street near Albany Street, at around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, July 31.
