Impaired Teen Who Killed Honors Student In High-Speed Capital Region Crash Sentenced An unlicensed teen who was drunk and high when he crashed a stolen car at more than 100 miles per hour, killing a beloved honors student in the region, is heading to prison. A’Mon Willis, age 14, of Albany, died in the wreck that happened just after 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, on I-890 in Colonie, according to New York State Police. Troopers said the Albany High School student was one of four teens in the car when the 17-year-old driver lost control while speeding, rolling the vehicle several times. 48-Year-Old Struck, Killed While Walking On Highway In Capital Region A man has died after being struck by a car while walking on a highway in the region, authorities said. Troopers in Schenectady were called just after 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, with reports that a person had suffered severe injuries after being hit by a car on I-890 near the Exit 5 off-ramp, State Police said. Investigators determined that 48-year-old Steven Brunson, of Schenectady, had been walking in the roadway when he was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
