After removing his shirt and using it to cover a security camera, a bouncer at a New York sports bar brutally beat a 32-year-old customer, who would die in the hospital 11 days later, prosecutors alleged. Long Island’s David Cruz, age 31, of Medford, was indicted for first-degree manslaughter Thursday, Sept. 22, in Suffolk County in the death of Jake Scott, of Centereach. A Hudson Valley family already grappling with their 6-year-old daughter’s cancer diagnosis has been jolted by a new tragedy. Dutchess County resident Michael Manetta, age 54, was killed in a motorcycle crash in Columbia County on Sunday, July 31, New York State Police said. A preliminary investigation found that Manetta, of Red Hook, was riding his motorcycle on Route 7A in the town of Copake shortly before 11 a.m. when a driver cut him off while making a left turn. Man Admits To Fatally Shooting Capital District Grocery Worker
The man accused of gunning down a Capital District grocery worker has confessed to the killing. Rensselaer County resident Jhajuan Sabb, age 22, of Troy, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and assault charges Tuesday, June 14, in the death of Sharaf Addailam. The 35-year-old was killed May 21, 2021 in Albany’s West Hill neighborhood when Sabb fired a handgun toward a group of people standing outside of Mr. Sam Food Market on First Street, according to the Albany County District Attorney.
