Prisoner Charged With Violating Protective Order While Behind Bars In Region
A man behind bars in the region has been charged again for allegedly violating a protective order. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on Friday, Oct. 19, at the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center in Poughkeepsie. According to Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Capt. John Watterson, Brandon Mima, age 21, of Beacon, is accused of violating an order of protection by contacting a protected party via telephone and video. 39-Year-Old Accused Of Forcing His Way Into Home In Capital Region
A Capitol Region man is behind bars after allegedly forcing his way into the home of a person he had a prior relationship with. Columbia County resident David A. Grant Jr., age 39, of Craryville, was charged on Sunday, Oct. 13. According to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police, an investigation determined Grant forced entry into the residence of the victim through a bathroom window and struck the victim. An accused rapist and animal abuser from upstate New York is now charged with choking the Long Island mother of his infant son while holding the child. Suffolk County prosecutors slapped Saratoga County resident Preston Wido, age 37, of Clifton Park, with multiple felony and misdemeanor domestic violence charges on Wednesday, April 24. A man from the region is facing attempted murder and kidnapping charges after trying to kill his ex-girlfriend, police said. The Columbia County incident happened Thursday night, March 14, in the city of Hudson. A court clerk in the region has been charged with allegedly falsifying business records for "fixing" tickets for friends. Ulster County resident Haley Whalen, age 25, of Ulster Park, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 13 following an investigation by state police. Four suspects have been apprehended after gunfire broke out in broad daylight near a city hall in the region. The incident happened just before 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21 in Poughkeepsie in the area of 55 Washington St. Officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired opposite Poughkeepsie City Hall. A man from the region was arrested four times in two weeks for allegedly stalking and harassing an employee of a local bank. A pilot in upstate New York is accused of stalking a woman for years, often flying his plane directly over her business and allegedly mailing her disturbing images.
