'Rindy' Germano, of Poughkeepsie, died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Monticello. Born in Poughkeepsie, Rindy lived her 68 years with a "contagious zest for life and a heart brimming with kindness," according to her obituary. New Police Chief In Region Grew Up In City He Now Serves A new chief of police in the region is no stranger to the area; he grew up there and has been part of the department for some 30 years.  Dutchess County resident Rich Wilson has been named the Chief of Police for the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department by Mayor Yvonne Flowers on Tuesday, Oct. 15. 2 Police Officers Hit, 1 Seriously Injured By Car In Hudson Valley Two police officers were injured after allegedly being hit by a red Lexus that fled the scene during a traffic stop in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 10 p.m., Sunday, May 12, at Main and Church Streets in the City of Poughkeepsie. According to Poughkeepsie PD Det. Sgt. Hudson Valley Guns, Drugs Trafficking Networks Busted, 7 Arrested, AG Says Large gun trafficking and narcotics networks were busted and seven suspects were arrested during raids in the region. The networks and suspects were operating out of Dutchess County, mostly in the Poughkeepsie area, according to New York Attorney General Letitia James. The arrests were made on Wednesday, Feb. 14 throughout Dutchess County. Drug-Dealing Duo Nabbed In Hudson Valley, Police Say Two Dutchess County alleged drug dealers have been charged with the criminal sale of controlled substances after an investigation by a drug task force. Dutchess County residents Tyrese Elting, age 24, of the town of Poughkeepsie, and Brandon Mima, age 20, from the city of Poughkeepsie were arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 14 during separate raids by the Dutchess County Task Force. Threat Of Bombs At Hudson Valley Mall Leads To Evacuation, Search, Police Say A busy Sunday at a mall in the region quickly turned to fear when officials began evacuating the building due to a bomb threat. The incident took place in Dutchess County at the Poughkeepsie Galleria on Sunday, Oct. 29 just before 2 p.m. Capt.
