Duo's Stolen Joyride Ends In Pursuit, Crash In Capital Region, Police Say A 17-year-old boy and a second defendant are accused of stealing a car and leading police on a chase before crashing in the region. The Saratoga County incident began around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, when a resident reported their car stolen from the driveway of their Saratoga Springs home. Officers spotted the vehicle a short time later on Circular Street and initiated a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over. App Leads To Teen Car Thief, 'Violent Struggle' With Cops In Capital Region, Police Say They say there’s an app for everything, and that includes catching car thieves. Police in Columbia County were called at around 3:45 p.m. Thursday, May 4, with reports that a woman’s SUV had been stolen in Hudson, near Warren and 5th streets, according to Hudson Police. Fortunately for the victim, she has an app on her phone that allowed investigators to track the vehicle right to the suspect’s doorstep. Using the app, officers found the vehicle approximately four blocks away, near Columbia and 1st streets, where they identified the suspect as Darrick Sanchez, age 18, of Hudson. …
