Massive Hotel Proposed To Replace Shuttered Jersey Shore Amusement Park: Reports
A developer is planning to bring a new purpose to a shuttered and iconic amusement park on the Ocean City boardwalk, according to reports. Wonderland Pier owner Eustace Mita said he wants to create a 252-room hotel on the site of the theme park that closed in October, abc6 Action News reported. Mita is also the developer and CEO of ICONA Resorts. The $135 to $155 million proposal would preserve Wonderland's famous Ferris wheel and carousel. Luxury Hotel Replacing 3 Motels In Jersey Shore Borough Long-Reputed As Party Town
A Jersey Shore town that gained a reputation for being one of the best places to party while down the shore is getting a rebrand. And it's in part due to a luxury hotel set to replace three of the motels in Seaside Heights that haven't exactly been helping the family-friendly atmosphere. Proposed Hotels, Upscale Restaurant Will Transform Vacant Cherry Hill Land
Two hotels and a restaurant will be built on a largely vacant strip of land in Cherry Hill, officials said. The 11-acre site contains a Magic Car Wash, former gas station and quarry. It's considered a prime location for development because it's on Route 70 West just 11 miles from Philadelphia. The project includes two five-story hotels: a 120-room Hampton Inn & Suites and 131-room Residence Inn by Marriott, according to plans by KM Hotels of Richmond, VA, the developer.
