'Freight-Train-Like Noise' Prompts Investigation In South Jersey Town Severe weather swept through a South Jersey town on New Year’s Day, leaving behind downed trees, damaged fences, and deck destruction late Tuesday, Dec. 31. Multiple 9-1-1 callers described hearing a “freight train-like noise” as high winds caused brief power outages and property damage in Clayton near Fries Mill Road, according to Gloucester County Emergency Management. While no injuries have been reported, residents were left shaken by the unexpected storm activity. Route 9 Pedestrian Crash, Property Damage Closes All Lanes (Developing) A stretch of Route 9 was closed Tuesday night, Dec. 3 due to a pedestrian crash with property damage, officials said. The crash happened south of Lanes Mill Road in Howell around 9 p.m. All lanes were closed as of press time.

Crash Blocks Toll Lanes On Parkway In East Orange A crash early Thursday, July 25 blocked several toll lanes in East Orange on the Garden State Parkway. As of 7:50 a.m., emergency response vehicles were at the scene with property damage at Exit 145.  The vehicle appears to have crashed while leaving the toll lanes. Delays were reported.
