Change In Weather Pattern Arrives After Stormy Stretch

A stormy stretch marked by Arctic air will be followed by a change in the weather pattern before the chance for another potential snowmaking system.

Temperatures will go from frigid to seasonable starting over the weekend.

It will be mostly sunny Saturday, Feb. 22, and Sunday, Feb.  23.

Daytime highs will reach the upper 30s and 40s across much of the Northeast for a stretch of days starting Sunday 40s as bright skies will help it feel warmer.

"And we have just that sort of thing in store for many areas this weekend to next week," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson said.

Starting Monday, Feb. 24, winds will become calmer and it will be mainly dry, with a slight chance of showers on Tuesday, Feb. 25, and again on Thursday, Feb. 27.

Looking ahead, early long-range forecast models indicate that March could roar in like a lion, with the potential for a significant storm at the start of the month. (Click on the first image above from AccuWeather.)
