The Maple Shade school district is mourning the loss of Jack Hohwald, an 85-year-old bus driver who was killed when he was struck by another bus on Tuesday, Jan. 28. The fatal crash happened at Maple Shade High School when Hohwald stepped outside of his vehicle and was struck by another school bus, sustaining fatal injuries, according to Maple Shade police. The driver of the striking bus, also a district employee, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No charges have been filed at this time, authorities said. A pedestrian was struck and killed in a two-vehicle crash on New Year’s Eve in Atlantic City, police said. The incident occurred at 10:47 p.m. on December 31, 2024, at the intersection of Maryland Avenue and Absecon Boulevard, according to the Atlantic City Police Department. When officers arrived, they found a 38-year-old Atlantic City man suffering from injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. 'Ultimate Baller:' Jersey Shore Man, 39, Killed In Pre-Thanksgiving Crash
A Forked River man was killed when his pickup hit a utility pole and rolled over in an overnight crash, authorities said. Christopher Winkle, 39, died in the crash on Wednesday, Nov. 27, the Lacey Township Police Department said in a news release. Police responded to the 2800 block of Dover Road at around 12:19 a.m. Officers arrived to find a severely damaged 2016 Nissan Frontier overturned in the woods. A New Jersey woman was killed when her vehicle overturned and crashed into an overpass in upstate New York's Capital Region, authorities said. Jennifer Okoro-Ibiam, 42, of Pemberton, died in the Warren County crash in Queensbury, on Monday, Nov. 18, New York State Police said in a news release.
