NJ Town's Mayor Charged In High School Parking Lot Incident The mayor of one New Jersey town is facing weapons offenses for an incident that happened in a high school parking lot, police said. Linwood police released a statement saying only that Erland V. Chau, 72, was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose stemming from an incident in the Mainland Regional High School on Oct. 1.  Chau is the mayor of Northfield. NJ Man Fatally Shot While Sitting In Car: Philadelphia PD A 38-year-old man was shot and killed in his car in West Philadelphia on Monday evening, July 15, according to city police.  Ardi Torollari of Northfield, New Jersey was shot in the chest while sitting in his Volkswagen on the 200 block of South 54th Street, investigators said in a release.  Torollari was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries around 6:10 p.m., authorities said. Fugitive Stole Vehicle, Broke Into Garage In South Jersey Neighborhood: Police A man wanted in Ocean County was accused of stealing a vehicle in Northfield, authorities said. Rashon Harris of Egg Harbor Township was arrested on Saturday, May 25, the Northfield Police Department said in a news release. No age was given for Harris. Officers responded to a vehicle burglary on the 700 block of Cecil Lane at around 2:05 a.m. Police then responded to "a second call of suspicious activity" on Fairway Avenue and Harris was taken into custody.
