The driver killed in an early-morning crash Wednesday, July 10 on Route 130 in Hamilton has been identified as the director of the New Jersey State Commission of Investigation (SCI). A Voorhees man was indicted for his role in a three-vehicle crash that killed a woman on a busy road in western Atlantic County, authorities said. A grand jury indicted 30-year-old Stephen Sirch on Wednesday, June 26 for second-degree vehicular homicide, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. A stray cat has tested positive for rabies about two weeks after it was brought to an animal shelter in Camden County, authorities said. The veterinarian who treated the cat in Voorhees has been advised to seek medical attention, according to the Camden County Health Department. Heather Marie Owens died on May 17 after a courageous two-year battle with breast cancer, according to an obituary published by Bradley Funeral Home. She was 40 years old. She departed peacefully at Samaritan Voorhees surrounded by loved ones, her obituary said. A driver was shot shortly before he was involved in a multi-vehicle crash in South Jersey, authorities said. The 30-year-old man from Voorhees had a gunshot wound when police arrived at the crash scene at Route 73 and Cooper Road at about 11:15 p.m. on Friday, May 17, Voorhees police said.
