Michelle Jacoby, 27, who worked at Riverside High School before her arrest for aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment, was dealt another blow to her career after agreeing to relinquish her license.

In 2023, Jacoby was arrested and later released after investigators said the student disclosed the relationship.

The investigation later found that the two were allegedly in a relationship that involved multiple encounters over a two-year period beginning when the teen was a freshman.

Prosecutors said that nearly all of the relations happened in Jacoby's home.

Jacoby was subsequently suspended by school officials, and Rani Singh, the Secretary for the State Board of Examiners later announced that her Substitute credential that ran through December 2027 has been revoked.

Following the charges, Riverside Superintendent Michael Adams issued a statement to the community stressing that "the safety of our students and staff is absolutely paramount."

"I want to assure you that based on the information shared with me regarding this specific allegation from a few years ago, there is no current safety concern for our staff or students," he said at the time.

"The School District will continue to cooperate fully with the authorities regarding this situation and will continue to provide the appropriate support/training for our staff and students."
