'Dangerous' Thieves Steal Porsche, Gun In Jersey Shore Home Break-In: Police
Three masked suspects forced their way into a Wall Township home, stealing a Porsche, a gun, and keys, authorities said. The burglary happened on River Road at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, the Wall Township Police Department said in a news release. Investigators said the trio broke into the home by forcing open a window while the homeowners were asleep. A Garfield teen was given more than 20 theft charges after he was found carrying stolen mail in Wall Township, authorities said. The 16-year-old boy was arrested near Industrial Road, the Wall Township Police Department said in a news release on Tuesday, Dec. 10. A Wall Township man was given a federal charge after he was accused of stealing more than $17,000 from a bank, authorities said. Jeffrey Kniffin, 50, was charged with armed bank robbery, New Jersey's U.S. Attorney said in a news release. He was arrested after the robbery at the Bank of America on Route 35 on Wednesday, Oct. 23. A Wall Township man admitted to stealing a vehicle he borrowed and selling it in Georgia, authorities said. Jaquel Accoo, 29, pleaded guilty on Monday, Oct. 28 to motor vehicle theft and witness tampering, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release. A vehicle crashed and overturned on the Garden State Parkway during the morning commute in Monmouth County, officials said. The crash happened north of Exit 98 on the southbound side of the parkway in Wall Township on Wednesday, Oct. 2, the state Department of Transportation said. A Long Branch woman was accused of using her former employer's credit card to buy herself more than $80,000 in items, authorities said. Three swimmers were rescued while in the water after sunset in Ocean Grove, officials said. Rescuers were called to a swimmer in distress near the pier at the Main Avenue beach at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, the ANSWER team said in a Facebook post. The report was quickly upgraded to three swimmers in distress. When emergency crews arrived, they saw the three swimmers screaming for help.
