One Killed, One Wounded In Elizabeth Shooting, Prosecutor Says A 47-year-old man was fatally shot and a 51-year-old man was wounded in an Elizabeth shooting on Sunday, July 7, authorities said. In the early morning, police responded to the 400 block of Westminster Avenue and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said in a release. Jose Aranzamedi was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead while the other victim, a 51-year-old man, is in stable condition at a nearby hospital, authorities said. Elizabeth Man Gets 20 Years For Fatal Shooting: Prosecutor A 38-year-old Elizabeth man was sentenced to 20 years in state prison on Friday, May 24, for killing a man in December 2021, authorities said. On Dec. 16, 2021, police responded to Second Street and Bond Street and found Shamar Brown, a 34-year-old Elizabeth man with a fatal gunshot wound, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel, Elizabeth Police Director Earl Graves, and Elizabeth Police Chief Giacomo Sacca said. Deshon Fleming was sentenced after being convicted of aggravated manslaughter, authorities said.

Arrest Made In Warinanco Park Killing, Prosecutor Says A Linden man has been arrested in the Warinanco Park killing of a 29-year-old man last weekend, authorities said. Gerald O. Walker, 47, shot Shakir Manns, also of Linden, at the park in Roselle around 7:50 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, the county prosecutor's office said.
