Tractor-Trailer Fire Shuts Down Most Lanes On Route 1 In Edison (Developing) A tractor-trailer caught fire in Edison, shutting down most lanes of a busy road during morning rush hour, officials said. The fire happened on Route 1 south of the intersection with Grandview Avenue on Thursday, Sept. 5, the state Department of Transportation said. An alert was posted about the incident at 8:28 a.m. The NJDOT reported all northbound lanes of Route 1 were closed. Three southbound lanes were shut down, leaving only one lane open. Police ID Bicyclist Killed On Black Horse Pike, Police Say A bicyclist was killed in a crash on Black Horse Pike on Friday, May 17, police said. Arthur Herz, 61, of Mays Landing entered the westbound lanes on a bicycle around 8:20 p.m. when he "made impact with" a 21-year-old man's Jeep Cherokee, Hamilton Township police said. It happened near milepost 45.5. Herz, who was not wearing a helmet was pronounced dead at the scene. The Jeep driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken via ambulance to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Pomona for further evaluation.
