Crash Shuts All Lanes Of Route 280
A crash closed all lanes of Route 280 during Tuesday morning, Aug. 27 rush hour in Newark. The NJDOT site shows a crash on the eastbound ramp to Exit 13, with all lanes shut as of 8:20 a.m. Daily Voice has reached out to police for details.

Orange Motorcyclist Killed After Being Ejected, Run Over In Route 280 Crash: Police
A 52-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an early-morning crash on Route 280 in Hudson County, police said. Kyle Silas, of Orange, was heading west on a Fly Wing electric motorcycle when he struck a Ford sedan near milepost 16 in Kearny around 4:35 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. Silas was ejected then run over by a Dodge, Lebron said. He died as a result of the accident.

Crash With Fuel Spill Shuts Route 80 In Wayne
A crash and fuel spill closed all lanes of Route 80 in Wayne on Monday afternoon, Aug. 19, according to the NJDOT site. As of 2:22 p.m., all westbound lanes west of Exit 53 were closed. Delays up to 15 minutes were being reported.

Police in Rutherford are investigating a Route 3 crash that they say was likely caused by a driver in the express lanes trying to cut across to the local lanes Sunday, Aug. 11. A 51-year-old man from Sussex was in a Honda Fit was in the left lane of the westbound express lanes when he tried to cut across the roadway to get to the local exits near Park Avenue when he clipped a Toyota Highlander around 4:20 p.m., Rutherford Police Chief John Russo said. : Driver Fails To Yield In Fiery Bayonne Crash That Hospitalized 20-Somethings, Cops Say
A fiery crash involving one car that landed on top of the other closed Route 440 in Bayonne Thursday night, July 18. The crash happened in the northbound lanes closing the roadway at Pulaski Street and Goldsborough Drive as of 10:25 p.m., the OEM said. Bayonne Police Sgt. William Dundas said one driver was cited for failing to stop at a control signal, and both drivers — ages 21 to 26 years old — were taken to the hospital: One for a complaint of pain and one for moderate injury. A 45-year-old Easton, PA man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route 78 in New Jersey on Tuesday, July 2, authorities said. At 10:04 p.m., a BMW motorcycle traveling eastbound on Route 78 in Greenwich Township struck the back of a 2017 Toyota Camry, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist, whose name has not been released, was ejected and was subsequently struck by a 2020 Toyota Camry, killing him, Marchan said. Two major crashes closed two major highways early Monday, June 24 in Passaic County. The first crash happened when a motorcycle and commercial truck collided just before 5 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Route 46, Clifton police said. The motorcyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries. All lanes were closed between Hazel Street and Paulson Avenue as of 9:40 a.m. Meanwhile, an overturned tractor trailer closed Route 80 in Paterson the eastbound ramp to Exit 58 just after 6:25 a.m., the NJDOT site says. All lanes were closed as of 7:40 a.m.

Overturned Freightliner Shuts All Lanes Of Turnpike For Hours
An overturned tractor trailer closed all lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike's western spur in Kearny Wednesday, June 12. New Jersey State Police said the Freightliner collided with a Nissan passenger car, causing the truck to flip just after 5:10 p.m. on the northbound side on the Interchange 15W ramp in Kearny. As of 8:35 p.m., all lanes were closed, the NJDOT said. The crash remains under investigation and minor injuries were reported.
