Few Details Released After Officer Shoots Newark Man On Jersey Shore
Authorities have released few details after a police officer shot a burglary suspect in Monmouth County last week. Police responded to burglary reports in Rumson near the intersection of Avenue of Two Rivers and Shrewsbury Drive at around 4:45 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release. A Fair Haven officer found two suspects driving in a vehicle and fired their gun at them. A 27-year-old Newark man was shot and brought to a nearby hospital. A New Jersey fugitive wanted in a deadly train station shooting and a home invasion was arrested in northeastern Pennsylvania, authorities said. U.S. Marshals took 19-year-old Damian Bass into custody, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Friday, Sept. 6. Bass' last known address was in Fanwood. A Monmouth County youth soccer coach accused of molesting two players and sending sexual pictures to others was given more charges, authorities said. A grand jury indicted 32-year-old Ryan Gunsauls of Union Beach on 30 counts, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Tuesday, Aug. 14. Sex Offender Stole From Church Collection Box, Bayonne Police Say
A 50-year-old Newark man and registered sex offender was arrested and charged on Wednesday, Aug. 7, with stealing hundreds of dollars from a collection box at a church in Bayonne last month. Raymond Gorczycki stole cash from three collection boxes at St. John Paul II Parish on Tuesday, July 23, after damaging the boxes in order to gain entry and remove the money, Bayonne police said in a release.
