Two people were arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 11 after more than 900 grams of cocaine were seized from a narcotics distribution operation in Jersey City, authorities said. A motorist from North Carolina was found with a loaded firearm and a high-capacity magazine during a routine motor vehicle stop on Route 17 in Paramus this week, police said. A 25-year-old Newark man was sentenced to nearly 11 years in prison on Thursday, Sept. 5 after he pleaded guilty to firing a gun during an armed robbery of an Essex County store in 2021, authorities said. A juvenile was arrested for shooting a person in the hip following an altercation in Bayonne on the evening of Thursday, Aug. 22, authorities said. At 7:58 p.m., the juvenile was involved in a verbal disagreement with a person at a house party in the area of W 9th Street, which culminated in the juvenile shooting the victim in the hip, Bayonne police said. Four Newark men were arrested and charged on Thursday, Aug. 1 with robbing a postal worker at gunpoint last November, authorities said. Last November, three people, including Troy Corbett, 28, and Dyshawn Williams, 28 stole the victim's cell phone, keys and wallet, containing a credit card and debit card, U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said. A 7-Eleven gas station attendant was shot during a robbery on Saturday, July 13, authorities said. Two men pulled up in a black sedan and demanded money from a gas station attendant, Bloomfield police said.
