Pedestrian Struck, Killed By NJ Transit Bus In Newark: Prosecutor

A 25-year-old Newark man was killed after he was fatally struck by an NJ Transit bus on the early morning of Sunday, March 2, authorities said.

At 12:18 a.m. Newark police responded to 475 Springfield Ave. and found two pedestrians struck, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.

Koran Tajhai Dupree Baker of Newark was taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. 

Another person was seriously injured, authorities said. The bus driver remained on the scene, authorities said.

This investigation is ongoing.
