Union County Man Arrested For DUI After Striking Curb: Police
A 43-year-old Union County man was arrested and charged with drunk driving after he struck a curb in Denville on Monday, Oct. 21, authorities said. Officers responded to 3056 Route 10 West after a black Honda struck a curb, Denville police said. The driver, Brian Sharkey, a Mountainside resident, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, police said. Sharkey was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing, police said. Star NJ Baseball Player Nick Cocchia Dies Suddenly, 25
Support is on the rise for the family of former New Jersey high school baseball player Nicholas "Nick" Cocchia, who died suddenly on Monday, Aug. 26, according to his obituary on the Rossi Funeral Home website. He was 25 years old. Nick was raised in Mountainside before moving to Kenilworth with his family, his obituary says. New Jersey hurdler Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is cruising right to the gold. The Dunellen native is ten hurdles and one lap around the track from potentially achieving a very rare Olympic feat.
