Construction Worker Rushed To Hospital With Head Trauma In Lyndhurst Accident: Police
A construction worker was hospitalized in Bergen County Tuesday morning, Jan. 14 in a worksite accident, police said. The worker, 56, was struck in the head by the bucket of an excavator while working at a construction site in the 1500 block of Valley Brook Avenue in Lyndhurst, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said. He was taken by the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson with severe injuries, Auteri said. Investigators from OSHA are on the scene investigating.

Teen Killed In Ski Accident At Western Mass Resort
A 19-year-old student at an exclusive Massachusetts college was killed this week after suffering a severe head injury while skiing at a resort in the Berkshires. Alex Kemp, of Lincroft, NJ, was skiing at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort in Hancock on Monday, Jan. 6, when he went off of one of the trails and hit his head after going over an embankment, the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office said. A Glen Rock volunteer firefighter was hospitalized Saturday night, Dec. 21, after sustaining a head injury during a "Santa Detail" event, according to incident reporter Boyd A. Loving. The 24-year-old firefighter was riding on top of a fire truck when his head was struck by a low-hanging tree branch on Doremus Avenue, near the Glen Rock Municipal Pool, Loving said. The injury, described as non-life-threatening, prompted an immediate response from local emergency services. A woman was flown to the hospital after a careless driver drove onto the sidewalk and struck her while she was walking her dog in an Ocean County town on Friday, Sept. 6, police said. Teen Airlifted In UTV Accident On Sussex County Farm: Police
An 18-year-old male was airlifted to the hospital following a crash on a Sussex County farm on Monday, Aug. 26, local police said. The male was riding on the back of the UTV, a larger type of ATV, which was being used to perform work on a farm on Layton Lane in Sparta, Sparta Police Capt. Tom Snyder said. The UTV made an unexpected turn and the victim lost his balance, falling off and hitting his head, Snyder said. He lost consciousness and was flown to the hospital. "The operator of the UTV was fully cooperative with patrol units and showed no signs of intoxication," Snyder said.
