Man Critical After Hit By Motorcycle in West New York That Fled Scene: Prosecutor

A 54-year-old Union City man is in critical condition after he was struck a motorcycle in a hit and run crash in West New York on Saturday, Aug. 17, authorities said.

At 3:40 p.m., West New York police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motorcycle on Bergenline Avenue and 57th Street and found the victim with life-threatening injurie, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.  The occupant of the motorcycle fled the scene on foot, Suarez said. 

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition, Suarez said.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the West New York Police Department are actively investigating this case and anyone with information is asked to contact 201-915-1345.
