Teterboro Airport Noise Has Gotten Worse, Says New Pascack Valley Group Fighting
For residents in the Pascack Valley region, the noise from private planes flying into Teterboro Airport has become a quality of life issue. Taxpayers for Airport Noise Solutions (TANS) is a new organization that has formed to give a voice to those grievances. The group has circulated a petition, which has almost 900 signatures, requesting the FAA change the flight plans for flights into Teterboro Airport Runway 19 by having them fly over Route 17, a less residential area. Troubled Man Hospitalized After Police Response
A troubled man was taken to Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus for an evaluation on Tuesday after authorities responded to his Montvale home. Police had conducted a welfare check after a friend told police the man had texted a photo of a shotgun while saying he intended to harm himself. They summoned a Bergen County Regional SWAT unit and Regional Crisis Negotiation team as a precaution. The situation ended quickly without incident. Park Ridge PD: Employee Finds Burglar From Bergenfield In Borough Business
An employee chased a burglar after finding him in a Park Ridge business, said police who tracked down and arrested him. Christo Meneses, 20, of Bergenfield had stolen and damaged the business’ van hours earlier when the worker found him behind the register shortly before 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Police Chief Joseph Madden said. Meneses grabbed some cash and bolted as the employee unsuccessfully tried to chase him down, Madden said.
