Head-On DWI Crash Off Route 208: One Driver Hospitalized, Other Arrested, Fair Lawn Police Say
Police said a driver was under the influence when his car slammed head-on into another Friday morning just off Route 208 in Fair Lawn, authorities said. Witnesses told police that Vadym Yukhno, 58, of Fair Lawn passed several other cars on Maple Avenue coming off the highway ramp toward Glen Rock when his Prius struck a Chevy Malibu in the oncoming lane just shortly after 9 a.m. The driver of the Malibu, a 43-year-old New Haven, CT woman, was taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with chest and wrist injuries, Sgt. Driver, 78, Hospitalized In Waldwick Rollover Crash
UPDATE: A 78-year-old Waldwick resident was hospitalized after her Jeep hit a parked car and overturned, authorities said. The Toyota was legally parked on Harrison Avenue when the 2018 Jeep Compass struck it and rolled at the corner of West Prospect Street shortly before 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Lt. Thomas J. Dowling said. Waldwick firefighters extricated the driver, who was taken to The Valley Hospital for an evaluation, he said. At least one victim was hospitalized following a Saturday afternoon head-on crash on a busy Glen Rock street. A fire hydrant was knocked off its foundation when two sedans collided at the intersection of Berkeley Place and Rock Road. UPDATE: A driver was charged with two counts of assault by auto after she rear-ended a car on Route 17 in Ridgewood with a stolen sedan, authorities said. An 11-year-old Glen Rock girl enjoying a tree swing escaped serious injury when the limb broke and fell on her. The girl was playing in her Harristown Road backyard late Friday afternoon when the limb snapped and fell on her, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Driver Seriously Injured In Route 17 Crash
A driver sustained serious head and neck injuries Friday afternoon when his Mini Cooper veered off the highway and slammed into a retaining wall on Route 17. The driver was taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood following the crash shortly after 1 p.m. at the corner of Summit Avenue and the southbound highway. Goose That Flew Into Car Windshield Dies, Parkway Driver Injured
A driver sustained minor injuries and a goose was killed after it flew into the car's windshield on the Garden State Parkway in Woodcliff Lake Thursday evening. The bird went through the windshield of a Toyota Corolla near milepost 169.8 around 7:10 p.m., New Jersey State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez said. The goose was killed on impact and the 27-year-old driver -- from Massachusetts -- was taken to The Valley Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, Goez said.

Glen Rock PD Nabs Paterson Hit-Run Driver Who Injured Hillsdale Motorist
Glen Rock police tracked down an unlicensed hit-and-run driver from Paterson who they said injured a 20-year-old Hillsdale motorist. The victim was stopped in traffic on Grove Street near Prospect Street last week when a vehicle driven by Samone T. Wade, 30, rear-ended him, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Wade took off before responding officers arrived, but by then the victim had collected information about her vehicle, Ackermann said. A driver was hospitalized after her sedan slammed into a utility pole Wednesday afternoon in Fair Lawn. A passenger escaped injury after the Infiniti slammed into the pole in the 1600 block of Kipp Street. A victim was hospitalized and a man was jailed for stabbing and slashing him with a broken bottle during a fight in Ridgewood, authorities said Monday.
