The 82-year-old driver from Fair Lawn reported having "mechanical difficulty" before her Toyota Camry crossed the double-yellow line on northbound Ackerman Avenue and barreled into the lot at Martens Body and Fender Friday afternoon, borough Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. The damaged vehicles included another sedan, an SUV and a pickup truck. Five vehicles in all were damaged in the Glen Rock chain-reaction crash.Boyd A. Officers found the victim after responding to an alert for a lift assist at a River Road senior citizens apartment shortly before 2 p.m., Sgt. Brian Metzler said. They're not sure how long she was stuck in there, the sergeant said Monday, adding that the mishap appeared accidental. Members of the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps took her to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood for treatment, he said.

She was taken by ambulance to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that didn't appear life-threatening after climbing out of the vehicle, which ended up on its side shortly before 2:30 p.m. The SUV vehicle also hit a parked sedan and a wooded area as it barreled off Fair Lawn Avenue on the ramp to the northbound highway.
