Montclair Bus Driver Hospitalized In Crash With 14 Students
The driver of a Montclair school bus was hospitalized with minor injuries after an accident Friday morning. Fourteen Hillside School students were on board when the bus struck a utility pole and fire hydrant around 9:05 a.m. at the intersection of Park Street and Wildwood Avenue, Sgt. Terence Turner said. A passenger vehicle was also involved. No other injuries were reported. The crash was under investigation.

Man With Face Tattoo Tried Stealing Victim's $500 Air Jordans On Montclair Street, Police Say
Montclair police are on the lookout for a male who they say stole someone's $500 shoes on a local street last week. The victim was near the Exxon station on Bloomfield Avenue carrying a box containing Air Jordan Concord 11 shoes on May 6, when he was approached by another male asking to try on his shoes, Montclair Police Sgt. Terence Turner said. The victim allowed the suspect to try on one shoe, and when he denied the suspect the other, the thief grabbed the shoes and the box and ran west on Bloomfield Avenue, police said. 'Swatting' Incident Brings Police To Downtown Montclair
Reports of an active shooter in Montclair Thursday afternoon returned unfounded, police said. A third-party caller reported an active shooter inside 425 Bloomfield Ave. -- a commercial and residential building in the Central Business District-- around 12 p.m., Sgt. Terence Turner said. All vehicle and pedestrian traffic was diverted as a rapid deployment team responded. The building was thoroughly searched and declared "all clear" around 12:10 p.m. No individuals were taken into custody.
