A Leonia youth gymnastics instructor was charged with sexually assaulting a pre-teen repeatedly over the course of six months. Anibal Oyola, a 39-year-old Ecuadorian national who lives in Leonia, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 8, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. A man who began serving a five-year sentence earlier this year for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old Bergen County girl still faces related charges in his home state of Washington. Devin C. Curtis, 26, was originally arrested by authorities at his home in Clarkston, WA in June 2021. NJ Man, 69, Sexually Assaulted Minor In Car In Parking Lot: Prosecutors
A 69-year-old Whippany resident was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a minor in a parking lot, authorities said. Livingston officers responding to reports of suspicious activity in a car found Alan Kelsey, on Wednesday, Aug. 2, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said. Kelsey was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, Stephens said. It was not immediately clear where the child was.

Bail reform doesn't free everyone, apparently. A 19-year-old Dominican national from Clifton has remained held after being charged with sexually assaulting a pre-teen. Judges in Paterson have refused to release Handerson Lantigua since his arrest last month by detectives from the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office following a referral from Clifton police, records show. A 49-year-old carpenter from Clifton sexually assaulted an underage teen in Englewood, authorities charged. Esmond A. A licensed social worker from Saddle Brook was charged with sexually assaulting a pre-teen in Midland Park. Jonathan Barrios, 27, remained held in the Bergen County Jail on Monday following his arrest on sexual assault and child endangerment charges on Friday, July 14.
