Police: Passaic Man Stabs Mom With Pocket Knife, Surrenders After Brief Standoff A troubled 35-year-old Passaic man stabbed his mother with a pocket knife and then briefly remained locked in a bathroom before surrendering Monday, authorities said. Devon Rodriguez was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center for a psychological evaluation pending transfer to the Passaic County Jail following the incident on Linden Street near Broadway, responders said.
