An infamous Bergen County convict who shot and killed his parents and two younger brothers in their Montvale home during Thanksgiving weekend 43 years ago must spend at least another nine years behind bars before he'll be eligible again for parole. A state appeals court on Friday ruled that the New Jersey State Parole Board had good reason to deny a bid for freedom last year and make Harry De La Roche wait until 2028 before he can make a seventh application for release. Nikki Mancinelli of Montvale died on Monday, Nov. 25 of diabetes-related complications, her obituary says. She was 21 years old. Nikki was remembered in her obituary as a "joyful soul whose ever-present smile brought humor and happiness to the lives of everyone who knew her." A scrap metal company owner from Allendale was sentenced Wednesday to 33 months in federal prison for conning customers out of several million dollars over nearly two decades. A tax preparer from Montvale was sentenced Tuesday to six years in federal prison for using a dead man's identity and a Las Vegas P.O. box to illegally collect refunds from the IRS -- while he was already awaiting trial on charges of helping scam the government out of more than $1.6 million.
