UPDATE: A Ramsey driver was drunk when her out-of-control SUV crashed through an overpass guard rail and rolled down an embankment onto Route 17, where it broadsided another vehicle, authorities said. Good Samaritans rushed to upright the 2018 Toyota Rav4 and help Rosa Griffin, 56, out after the bizarre crash shortly before 5 p.m. Monday, July 24, Ramsey Police Detective Jaclyn Sabatelli said. Jeeps Hits Wall, Rolls In Ramsey
A Jeep landed on its side after hitting a rock wall late Thursday morning in Ramsey. The driver got OK and didn't require hospitalization following the rollover at Franklin Turnpike and East Main Street around 11:15 a.m., responders said. Burning Wires Fall In Ramsey, Jam Area Traffic
Ramsey firefighters doused separate mini-blazes sparked Monday by downed utility lines blocks apart. Burning wires fell on Lake Street at Franklin Turnpike in front of Eastwick College and on Canterbury Drive, spreading to some brush. PSE&G shut down power to the area so that firefighters could extinguish the blazes. RAMSEY, N.J. -- No injuries were reported after a sedan with out-of-state plates slammed into a support column, mounted a curb and took down a sign at a busy Ramsey shopping center late Tuesday afternoon. Another vehicle struck a parked tow truck moments later at the Interstate Shopping Center off Franklin Turnpike.
