A mother and daughter bailed out of an SUV moments before it plowed into the side of a commercial building and burst into flames in Leonia, witnesses said. No serious injuries were reported in the crash and resulting fire, which spread into the Wooree Insurance Agency building on Fort Lee Road shortly before 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 11. A trash-hauling roll-off truck tipped overnight in Fort Lee, closing a key road near the George Washington Bridge for nearly five hours. A rescue team plucked a New York City man from a ledge after he tumbled down the Palisades in Fort Lee late Thursday. Erick Sanes, 23, was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that responders said didn’t appear life-threatening following the 11:19 p.m. call.
