Edward Lawrence Jones walked out of his home around 8:30 a.m. Monday and into the arms of police whom he’d threatened to kill over the death of a man in custody last week, authorities confirmed. He remained held Tuesday in the Passaic County Jail, charged with making terroristic threats and illegal weapons possession. He also was wanted on a warrant, city Police Director Jerry Speziale said.
