A man from Essex County has been charged with harassment after he made vulgar comments in three separate Morris County “bias instances,” police said. The 34-year-old Orange man is first accused of approaching the owner of a home on North Passaic Avenue in Chatham Borough and asking about a room for rent around 11:50 a.m. on April 26, police said. Brace Yourself For Weeks Of Detours Through Chatham Borough
A several-week-long road restructuring project will cause detours through Chatham Borough. The North Passaic Avenue project under the county's engineering department will begin on Aug. 19 and continue through September, police said. Curbing, sidewalks and drainage work will occur mostly between Weston Avenue and the Florham Park border. The final milling and paving phase will occur along the entire length of the road. A 19-year-old man was taken to Morristown Medical Center after being struck by lightning while in a Chatham Borough field Thursday evening, authorities said. A 21-year-old drunk driver from East Hanover threw a shoe at a computer and shoved a police officer, authorities said. Chatham Borough police officers gave Michael Relich a field sobriety test after stopping him for speeding on Main Street around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, Detective Sgt. Michael Bochniak said.
