No injuries were reported after a garbage truck caught fire and a driver trying to move his SUV away from it crashed in Wayne late Monday morning. The fire, which ignited on Robin Hood Way near Longell Avenue shortly before 11 a.m. April 10, not only destroyed the truck's cab, witnesses said. A young teen was hospitalized on Saturday after the SUV he was driving slammed into a utility pole in Ridgewood. The Audi Q7 took out the pole in the April 8 noontime crash on West End Avenue near Orchard Street. The 17-year-old driver was taken to The Valley Hospital nearby with injuries that responders said weren't considered life-threatening. Wayne Teens Killed In Crash Were Fleeing Cops In NY: Authorities
A pair of Wayne Hills High School students who died in a crash last week had been trying to flee from police during a traffic stop in New York, authorities announced. Christian A. Enrico, 17, was heading north on Route 8 in Guilford, NY when a Chenango County Sheriff’s Deputy tried to pull him over around 9:40 p.m. on Friday, March 31, according to a release from New York State Police. Passaic County Driver Killed In NJ Turnpike Crash
A 62-year-old Passaic County man was killed in a crash on the NJ Turnpike Saturday, March 18, authorities said. Scott Locicero was heading north on the outer roadway in a Chevrolet Silverado, when he struck the left guardrail, traveled across the lanes, and struck the right concrete barrier around 7:05 p.m. in Milltown, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said. Locicero died as a result of the crash. The crash remains under investigation.

An injured driver told police her Ford Bronco was struck Friday morning in Paramus by a large box truck that kept going. 18-Year-Old Driver Ejected, Seriously Hurt In Route 287 Crash
An 18-year-old driver from Rockaway was seriously hurt in a crash on Route 287 overnight in Somerset County, authorities said. Kamil D. Nowak was heading south in the express lanes when his Infiniti ran off the road to the left and struck multiple trees around 1:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12 in Bridgewater, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said.
