Three Philadelphia men were indicted after two women were shot in the head in Atlantic City, including one who died, authorities said. A grand jury indicted 34-year-old Gregg Page for murder, attempted murder, and several weapons charges on Wednesday, Oct. 2, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. After a four-hour stand-off in Atlantic City, authorities say they have arrested the pair responsible for a murder on the Schuylkill River Trail in Norristown early last month. An Atlantic City councilman who was accused last year of assaulting his wife and endangering his daughter was busted by federal authorities for voter and unemployment fraud. MD Hossain Morshed, 49, a Democrat who represents the city’s Fourth Ward, was charged in a complaint unsealed Friday, March 17, in U.S. District Court in Camden. The man who shot and killed his ex-girlfriend before killing himself was a retired Atlantic City police officer, authorities confirmed. William Beattie, 47, retired from the police force on Feb. 1, 2010, according to public records. Police were called to Ogden Road in Deptford at 6:50 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28. An Atlantic City police sergeant was arrested last month for threatening a woman with a wine bottle and then physically pushing her out of a house, according to a recent news report. Mohammed Kaiser was taken into custody on Feb. 3 in Absecon and charged with simple assault by attempting to cause bodily injury, NJ.com reports citing the criminal complaint. A 30-year-old man from Upstate New York died after falling two stories to his death in an Atlantic City casino, authorities said. The man from Rochester was trying to climb over a divider when he fell from a second-level mezzanine into the lobby at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, police said.
