Teamwork: Police From Prospect Park, Haledon Seize Cocaine, Pot In Raid

PROSPECT PARK, N.J. -- Prospect Park police united with their Haledon colleagues to seize an ounce of raw cocaine, along with pot and various drug-dealing materials while arresting a borough man, authorities said.

A week after receiving a tip, detectives obtained a search warrant, raided a residence and arrested Richard Dennis, 28, Detective Walter Richmond said.

Along with the drugs, he said, investigators found mixing/cutting agents, strainers, digital scales and packaging materials in Dennis’s home.

Dennis remained held Tuesday in the Passaic County Jail following last Friday’s arrest on several drug-related counts.

He also had an active warrant out of Prospect Park.

Chief Charlie Atie commended several officers for their work on the case – among them, Prospect Park’s Lt. William Rausch, Detective Walter Richmond and Officer Arthur Canestrino and Haledon’s Lt. George Guzman, Detective Sgt. George Kelly and Detective Michael Palmer.
