Bloomingdale Man Trafficked In Child Porn, Passaic County Sheriff Charges

BLOOMINGDALE, N.J. -- Passaic County sheriff's investigators tipped off by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children arrested a Bloomingdale man on Thursday who they said was trafficking in online child pornography.

A judge ordered Christian Smith, 45, held on $200,000 bail, charged with possessing and distributing kiddie porn.

Investigators seized a computer and other electronic equipment from Smith's Riverside Square apartment and located more than 100 illegal files, Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said.

The Passaic County Prosecutor's Sexual Investigations Unit assisted his Internet Crime Unit, the sheriff said.
