“These grants will help us address dangerous road conditions throughout Passaic County, reducing the risk of crashes at curves and helping drivers remain alert on the roads,” said Freeholder John Bartlett, who represents Passaic County on the Transportation Planning Authority board of trustees.
The grants will provide for the application of horizontal curve high friction surface treatment and rumble strips to high risk roads throughout the county.
The surface treatment reduces skidding and helps drivers control their vehicles during wet and dry road conditions on curved roads. Rumble strips alert inattentive drivers that their vehicle has drifted out of the travel lane.
