Police Seeking Witnesses In Deadly Route 36 Pedestrian Crash
Police are looking to speak with anyone who may have seen a 60-year-old man just before he was struck and killed along Route 36 last week. Dennis Bannon, of Leonardo, was found lying in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle near Navy Weapons Station Earle around 8:05 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 in Middletown, Deputy Police Chief Paul Bailey said. Bannon had been walking on the roadway prior to the crash, Bailey said. The driver was cooperative with police during the investigation. Man Seriously Injured After Crash On Route 287:

A man suffered serious injuries following a collision on Route 287 in Somerset County on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 18. At 5:18 p.m., a Ford pickup truck was traveling northbound on Route 287 in Bridgewater Township when it veered off the roadway to the right, struck the guardrail and then crossed into another lane, and hit another guardrail, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver, a 66-year-old Lake Hopatcong resident sustained serious injuries, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Officer Involved Shooting Leaves Man Dead In New Jersey: AG
The New Jersey Attorney General's Office is investigating a police-involved shooting that left a citizen dead on Saturday, Oct. 19, the office said. The incident occurred in Browns Mills in Pemberton Township (Burlington County), the AG's office said Sunday morning, Oct. 20. The man's identity was not being released as of press time. A firearm was recovered near his body, the office said. The investigation is ongoing and no further information is being released at this time.
