Prosecutor's Office Sergeant Killed In South Jersey Home Invasion: 'Truly Devastating'
A Cumberland County detective was shot and killed during a home invasion in Bridgeton, authorities said. Sgt. Monica Mosley, 51, died late at night on Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Bridgeton Police Department said in a news release. She was a member of the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office. A Delanco Township woman was sedated in a hospital after she was rescued from a roof on her burning home, officials said. Firefighters responded to the home on the 300 block of Burlington Avenue at around 4:50 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 14, the Delanco Fire Company said in a Facebook post. A New Jersey boy was killed when a tree fell on him in a backyard, authorities said. Lucas Schwartz, 12, was identified as the victim of the Eldridge Avenue incident in Lawrence Township on a GoFundMe page. A train operator was killed and multiple others hurt after a tree fell on an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 14 in Burlington County. A 30-acre forest fire has been contained, however, smoke could linger across parts of South Jersey for days, fire officials said. The mayor of one New Jersey town is facing weapons offenses for an incident that happened in a high school parking lot, police said. Linwood police released a statement saying only that Erland V.
