Mohammad Abdeljawad, of North Bergen, was being held by a group of people when officers arrived to the Terrace Avenue hotel in Hasbrouck Heights on Sunday, Sept. 29, Lt. John Behr said. Witnesses filmed from a high level at the hotel as Abdeljawad cut a hole into the trunk cover of a victim's vehicle in the parking lot and began loading stolen items into his 2024 BMW 3 series, Behr said.
