25-Foot Fatal Fall At Utz Potato Chip Factory: Officials A man died after falling 25 feet from a roof at the Utz Potato Factory in Hanover, York County officials announced on Friday, May 2. The fall was reported to York County 911 at 8:35 a.m. from the factory located at 900 High Street, according to the Office of Emergency Management. Contractor Hospitalized In 12-Foot Fall From Roof In Ridgewood A 30-year-old contractor was hospitalized after falling from the roof of a Ridgewood home Monday morning, Jan. 27, police said. The incident happened at 444 East Gate, where the contractor fell 12 feet sometime around 11 a.m. Incident reporter Boyd A. Loving says the incident happened in the rear of the home when the worker fell from scaffolding. Ridgewood Police Capt. Glenn Ender says the worker was transported to Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police ID Elizabeth Worker Crushed To Death At Clifton Recycling Plant (Update) A worker was killed Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 12, when a baling machine fell on him at a Clifton recycling plant, officials confirmed. Jose D. Centeno, of Elizabeth, went underneath the heavy machine at Ricova Recycling at 1 Broad St. around 3:30 p.m. and became crushed, according to a spokesperson from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Clifton police.
