A driver was extricated from her vehicle in what witnesses described as a serious wreck that closed a busy roadway in Elmwood Park Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 5. Incident reporter Boyd A. A wrong-way driver from New York was killed, and three others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike early Sunday morning, Jan. 19, New Jersey State Police said. The victim killed in a Morris County crash on Thanksgiving Night, Nov. 28 has been identified as a 19-year-old former hockey player. Gavin Barooah, of Ledgewood, was behind the wheel of a Mercedes Benz when his vehicle collided with a Jeep around 8 p.m. at Morris and Sussex turnpikes in Randolph, according to Meghan Knab, a spokesperson for the county prosecutor's office. A 24-year-old woman has been arrested after police say she pinned a pedestrian between her car and a vehicle she'd struck while trying to flee the scene on Labor Day in Bergen County. Ashley Elizabeth Ann Flores, of Garfield, had struck a parked vehicle on Outwater Lane near Wilson Street around 10:20 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
